Ananta is an upcoming free-to-play urban open-world action Gacha game developed by Naked Rain and published by NetEase, previously known as Project Mugen. It features a vibrant, anime-inspired aesthetic and is set in a dynamic city called Nova Inception Urbs, with plans for additional cities inspired by European and American styles.

NetEase confirmed yesterday that Ananta will not be attending NetEase Connect 2025. Numerous games were confirmed: Naraka: Bladepoint, Diablo Immortal, Codename: Destiny, Shadowverse, Fantasy Westward Journey, Westward Journey Online among dozens of others, leading many players online to speculate Ananta has ultimately been delayed into 2026. While this is in no way a direct confirmation of a delay, it likely means Ananta doesn’t have sufficient footage to showcase at this time.

While Ananta is widely categorized as a gacha game, the monetization model hasn’t been officially confirmed, but community sentiment and industry patterns strongly suggest it will incorporate Gacha mechanics (especially given the leaks we’ve seen.) Ananta aims to push Gacha gaming by combining AAA open-world scale, seamless city exploration, and multiplayer elements, setting it apart from single-player-focused Gacha titles like Genshin Impact and Wuthering Waves.
