This is an exciting month! We’ve seen the top 15 Gacha games – games that have dominated earnings over the last several months – shift, which is healthy for the genre.
No singular group of games should continue to dominate the genre repetitiously each month without competition.
When studios are no longer challenged, they grow lazy. And we’ve seen that happen time and time again. Hey, my name is Stix and welcome back to your monthly recap of how your favorite Gacha games are doing on a month by month basis.

Gacha games are always fluctuating. Whether a game is doing good or bad is entirely dependent on what banner is currently available, what content was recently released, and what the competition is doing.

With this in mind, I’ve taken on the responsibility to report on the monthly earnings for every major Gacha game. So you know where your favorite game stands in the sea of Gacha – including total downloads.

Do note: This is pertaining to Global earnings and downloads – disregarding other regions (China, Japan, Korea etc.,) and will only feature Mobile earnings (not including PC/console financials.)

#1 Genshin Impact

Let’s start this off with #1 – Genshin Impact. I know, shocking, Genshin is still the #1 most played and highest grossing Gacha game of March 2023, bringing in a grand total of 3,000,000 new downloads across Android and iOS and $67,000,000 in revenue Globally.
China brought in 800,000 new downloads and $61,000,000 in revenue, totaling 3.8 million new players, and $128 million dollars in revenue. This is an increase in revenue over last month, which saw $107 million dollars, but a decrease in new players, down from 4 million.

#2 FATE GRAND ORDER

The #2 spot has been heavily dominated by NIKKE ever since it launched. And after several months, while still doing absolutely incredibly.. it saw its first defeat, with Fate/Grand Order taking the #2 spot, with 120,000 new downloads and $47,000,000 within Japan alone, and 80,000 new downloads and $3,000,000 Globally.
Japan and Global, totaled 200,000 new downloads and over $50,000,000 in earnings, which is an increase over last month in terms of earnings – which saw $45,000,000 – yet a decrease in new players, down from 340,000.

#3 NIKKE

NIKKE may have fallen from #2 – but it still holds strong at #3. Although just barely, bringing in 600,000 new downloads and $28,000,000 Globally.
If it had fallen a mere few million dollars this month, the game would have fallen to the #5 spot instead. Both in terms of downloads and earnings, this is a decrease over last month, as last month saw $47,000,000 in revenue, and 800,000 new players.

#4 heaven burns red

#4 saw Heaven Burns Red enter the top 5 Gacha games of March – the first time this has happened – I believe – in over a half year. Heaven Burns Red is available exclusively in Japan, so this is quite the accomplishment, as is the monumentally large 800,000 new players and $25,000,000 dollars in total revenue.
This is an enormous increase over last month, which saw a mere 40,000 new players and $8,000,000 dollars in earnings.

#5 Uma musume

Uma Musume wasn’t far behind, however, at #5. Uma Musume was a Japanese exclusive until recently, when the game launched in Korea. Japan, however, saw 60,000 new players and $25,000,000 in total revenue this month.
This is a decrease from last month, which saw 80,000 new players and $41,000,000 in total earnings. Korea, however, saw a negligible 10,000 new players and $700,000 in total revenue. Also down from last month’s $1,300,000 and 13,000 new players.

#6 blue archive

Interestingly, Blue Archive almost saw itself breaking into the top 3 for the first time ever, coming in at #6. Combining Japan and Global, Blue Archive saw 320,000 new players and $24,000,000 in total revenue.
This is the third month in a row where Blue Archive has managed to accumulate hundreds of thousands of new players, and over $20,000,000 in earnings, with last month seeing 330,000 new players and $21,000,000 in total revenue.

#7 raid: shadow legends

Raid: Shadow Legends managed to capture the #7 spot this month, bringing in 600,000 new players and $15,000,000 in total revenue. I’m honestly not sure how this game manages to continue to attract such a large audience, and how that same audience continues to justify spending on it. But whatever they’re doing – they’re doing right.
This was a decrease over last month, however, which saw $17,000,000 in total revenue and 1 million new players.

#8 project sekai

Project Sekai came in at #8, with a total of 340,000 new players and $11,700,000 in total revenue split between Japan and Global. Most of which came from Japan, honestly. This is a slight decrease over last month which saw 370,000 new players and $12,000,000 in total revenue.

#9 diablo immortal

#9 is a game that unfortunately still exists, Diablo Immortal. Diablo Immortal managed to bring in a grand total of over 1 million new downloads, and $10,000,000 between Global and China. This is a decrease over last month which saw $18,000,000 and still roughly over a million downloads.

#10 memento mori

#10 is a Gacha game that nobody predicted would have the lasting power that it has: Memento Mori. Memento Mori managed 80,000 new players, and $9,000,000 in total revenue. Which is a steep decline from last month, which saw 290,000 new players and $14,000,000 in total earnings.
And while a decline of a pretty large margin – it is still in the top 10 highest grossing Gacha games this month, which is quite the accomplishment half a year after its launch.

#11 summoners war

Summoners War comes in at #11 with 70,000 new players and $8,000,000 in total revenue Globally. This is a decrease over last month’s 90,000 new downloads and $12,000,000 in total earnings.

#12 Fire emblem heroes

Fire Emblem Heroes managed to secure the #12 spot this month with a Global total of 80,000 new players and $5,000,000 in revenue. This is a decline over last month which saw the game reach 100,000 new players and $7,000,000 in total revenue, and also marks the game’s first inclusion into this list.

#13 eversoul

At #13 we have Eversoul, a Gacha that released Globally back in January 2023. Eversoul has managed 290,000 new players this month and $4,000,000 in total revenue. That is a sizeable decrease over last month which saw 1,200,000 new players and $9,000,000 in total revenue. Yet not a decrease large enough to warrant concern.

#14 eminence in shadow

At #14 we have Eminence in Shadow, another new release that managed to accumulate 130,000 new players and $4,000,000 in total revenue Globally. This is down from the 150,000 new players and $5,000,000 earned last month.

#15 epic seven

And finally, at #15 we have Epic Seven. Epic Seven rarely makes it into these lists – so I’m always surprised to see it when it does. This month, Epic Seven managed 110,000 new players and $4,000,000 in total revenue Globally. This is an increase over last month’s 80,000 new players and $3,000,000 in total earnings.

This was quite the interesting month. We saw Arknights fall out of the top 15 – we saw Tower of Fantasy’s second month in a row making a mere $2 million dollars, Honkai Impact raise into the top 20 but still miss the top 15. Artery Gear is making less than $100,000 per month, as is Neural Cloud which is a recent launch as well.
Revived Witch actually only made $20k last month Globally. That is insane.
But that’s pretty much it.
