This month was full of surprises. We had a Gacha game dethrone Honkai Star Rail as the #1 Gacha on Mobile, Globally for the last month – although it’s likely to be very temporary.
Tower of Fantasy saw a slight increase in earnings for what – the first time this year? There has been a fairly substantial shift in terms of rankings all round, and NIKKE is holding a NieR automata collab which is out of this world.
The things they did to 2B and A2 should be illegal.. because they made me waste $200 to guarantee just 2B. God help me when it comes to pulling A2..

Gacha games are always fluctuating. Whether a game is doing good or bad is entirely dependent on what banner is currently available, what content was recently released, and what the competition is doing.

With this in mind, I’ve taken on the responsibility to report on the monthly earnings for every major Gacha game. So you know where your favorite game stands in the sea of Gacha – including total downloads.

Do note: This is pertaining to Global earnings and downloads – disregarding other regions (China, Japan, Korea etc.,) and will only feature Mobile earnings (not including PC/console financials.)

#1 FATE GRAND ORDER

First, let’s talk the new king of the Gacha genre – Fate/Grand Order, coming in at #1 with an overwhelming $61 million dollars Globally, and 180,000 new downloads. Which is awfully low given the revenue, but is proof that the active playerbase is capable of spending more than almost any other gacha.
This is significantly more than its previous month, which saw $36 million dollars and 180,000 new downloads.

#2 honkai star rail

Honkai Star Rail sees a drop – although very likely temporary, to #2, with $50 million dollars Globally and 1.6 million new downloads. This is up quite a bit from last month’s $41 million dollars and 1.6 million new downloads.
In a shocking turn of events, Genshin Impact came in at #3, something many Gacha gamers probably never expected to see, with $44 million dollars and 2.9 million new downloads. This is up slightly from last month’s $32 million dollars and 2.7 million new downloads.

#3 Genshin Impact

In a shocking turn of events, Genshin Impact came in at #3, something many Gacha gamers probably never expected to see, with $44 million dollars and 2.9 million new downloads. This is up slightly from last month’s $32 million dollars and 2.7 million new downloads.

#4 Uma musume

It’s rare for 3 Gacha games to top $20 million dollars in any given month, so when Uma Musume proved once again it is a force to be reckoned with, bringing in $28 million dollars and 50,000 new downloads from Japan alone, to say I was surprised would be an understatement.
This is significantly up from last month’s $23 million dollars and 30,000 new downloads.

#5 blue archive

Blue Archive came in at #5 with $22 million dollars and 290,000 new downloads. This is up from last month’s $19 million dollars and 360,000 new downloads. Blue Archive has been doing absolutely incredibly all year and is showing no signs of slowing down any time in the near future. Stix is a proud sensei.

#6 NIKKE

Last month, NIKKE fell to the #7 position. This month, NIKKE rose to take the #6 spot, bringing in a whopping $20 million dollars – yes, another game above $20 million, with 300,000 new downloads. This is up quite a bit from last month’s $15 million dollars and 290,000 new downloads.
I’m curious what next month’ll look like given the NieR collab featuring 2Booty and Ass2.

#7 heaven burns red

Heaven Burns Red comes in at #7 with a sizable $16 million dollars and 90,000 new downloads. This is up substantially from last month’s $4 million dollars and 40,000 new downloads. I’m not sure what happened, but they need to keep that up.

#8 raid: shadow legends

Raid Shadow Legends comes in at #8 with $15 million dollars and 600,000 new downloads. This is down just slightly from last month’s $16 million dollars and 700,000 new downloads.

#9 summoners war

Coming in at #9 is none other than Summoners War, with a tidy $10 million dollars and 70,000 new downloads. This is down from last month’s $12 million dollars and 100,000 new downloads.

#10 project sekai

Project Sekai takes the #10 spot with $8.9 million dollars and 360,000 new downloads. This is down quite a bit from last month’s $12.9 million dollars and 350,000 new downloads.

#11 tower of god new world

Tower of God New World comes in at #11 with a massive $8 million dollars and 1.3 million new downloads. That’s.. pretty damn impressive given the game just launched a month ago. It opened significantly higher than many of us anticipated it opening to, which is never a bad thing.

#12 arknights

Arknights continues to do phenomenally at #12, pulling in $7.6 million dollars and 90,000 new downloads. This is down from last month’s $10.9 million dollars and 100,000 downloads. I’m curious how next month will look however with their Monster Hunter collab going on right now.

#13 romancing saga Re:universe

At #13 we have Romancing SaGa Re: Universe, a title not many of you have likely played, yet managed to bring in $7.2 million dollars and 30,000 new downloads. This is down from last month’s $8.2 million, but pretty much 95% of its earnings are from Japan.

#14 diablo immortal

Diablo Immortal is finally beginning to show signs of decline, coming in at #14 with $7 million dollars and 300,000 new downloads. This is down from last month’s $9 million dollars and 600,000 new downloads. I’m surprised it’s lasted as long as it has, honestly.

#15 memento mori

Memento Mori has risen from an all-time low, taking the #15 spot with $7 million dollars and 100,000 new downloads. This is up a decent amount from last month’s $5 million dollars and 50,000 new downloads.

#16 epic 7

Epic Seven comes in at #16 with $7 million dollars and 80,000 new downloads. This is roughly on par with last month’s $7 million dollars and 70,000 new downloads. This game continues to surprise us with its longevity.

#17 7 deadly sins grand cross

The Seven Deadly Sins Grand Cross comes in at #17 with $6.5 million dollars and 400,000 new downloads. This is up quite a bit from last month’s $4.5 million dollars and 300,000 new downloads.

#18 fire emblem heroes

Fire Emblem Heroes comes in at #18 with $5 million dollars and 20,000 new downloads. This is almost identical to last month’s $5 million dollars and 17,000 new downloads.

#19 dragon quest champions

Dragon Quest Champions comes in at #19 with $3.9 million dollars and 60,000 new downloads. This is down from last month’s $9 million dollars and a very alarming drop given it has only been out for less than 3 whole months. It is a Japanese exclusive currently, though.

#20 azur lane

And finally, coming in at #20 is Azur Lane, with $3.3 million dollars and 51,000 new downloads. This is up from last month’s 2.8 million dollars and 40,000 new downloads.

And that makes up the top 20 Gacha games in terms of downloads and earnings for the last month. I’m sure some of you are as surprised as I am with a few of the games listed here today.
Fate/Grand Order came in at #1 in terms of total revenue on Mobile. Honkai Star Rail and Genshin Impact continue to be money printers for HoYo.
There were 6 games that made over $20 million dollars over the last month, which is absolutely crazy.
Tower of Fantasy once again didn’t make it into the top 10, top 20, top 30.. but it did manage to earn $1.3 million dollars – disregarding PC, console and China. But this list excludes those options for every other game so it’s fair.
Brown Dust 2 dropped from $4 million down to $1.9 million – which was disappointing. Danmachi Battle Chronicle opened to $1.3 million – lower than expected. Snowbreak is remaining steady at around $1.2 million. Eversoul dipped down to $700k. Takt Op Symphony dropped from $3 million down to $600k. King’s Raid is making $20k. Oof.
It’s been a fascinating month, honestly, and I can’t wait for next month to see how the games continue to shift.
