September is usually the month where summer betas either convert into real launches or quietly slide into Q4. This year it’s a mix: one actual big global launch, a handful of Japan/China tests, multiple Steam ports, and a few titles that are technically September news even if they aren’t shipping this month (pre-registrations).

This list covers full launches, closed tests, pre-registrations, and Steam releases that are live or incoming in September 2026. Dates shift. So I’d advise keeping every non-definitively confirmed listing as a “potential date”.

Aniimo - September 16 (PC / PS5 / Xbox) / September 23 (iOS / Android)

Pawprint Studio / Kingsglory’s creature-catching open-world action RPG finally has a locked date after Gamescom.

Is it a gacha? Official marketing still dances around the topic. Betas had a legendary creature obtainable through a gacha-style system. That’s enough to put it on this list. Pre-reg is huge (in the 28 million range). Console pre-order packs (Advanced $9.99 / Collector $19.99) are live on PS5 and Xbox with platform-exclusive cosmetics and a battle-pass handbook that includes a Prismana egg.

Mrs. Stix and I already covered the beta on Married to Gaming. It’s fun. If you’ve been waiting for a Palworld / Pokémon-shaped F2P that isn’t another urban open-world clone, this is the one that actually ships this month.

Made in Abyss ~An Irredeemable Journey of Mysteries~ - September 23 (iOS; Android TBA)

Nobollel / Avex Pictures. Deck-building roguelite. App Store currently shows September 23.

This is not a traditional auto-battler gacha. It’s Slay the Spire with an already existing IP.

Touken Ranbu Pazugiri - September 30 (Japan · PC / iOS / Android)

DMM GAMES / NHN PlayArt / nitro+. Chibi match-3 puzzle RPG spin-off of Touken Ranbu.

Cross-save between PC (DMM GAME PLAYER) and mobile. Pre-reg is open in Japan. They’re demoing it at TGS 2026 (Sep 17–21) with a joint Touken Ranbu ONLINE main-stage panel on the 20th.

Azur Promilia - CN “Journey Trace Test” · September 17

Manjuu’s open-world action follow-up to Azur Lane.

The previous CN CBT (“Journey Test”) closed August 20. A new CN test is scheduled September 17 and is being treated as the last one before a China launch. Platforms for this test: PC and Android. Global is still TBA. PlayStation trailers have millions of views and full cross-play (PC / mobile / PS) is the stated plan, but this particular test is not the global one.

If you’re waiting for a Western date, September does not give it to you.

Limit Zero Breakers - Frontier Test · September 9–13

NC / VIC Game Studios. Anime action RPG (Unreal 5), MAPPA involved in cutscenes/OP, Kadokawa collab on the marketing side.

Second global test after the June Prologue Test.

  • Sign-ups: through September 5, 7:00 PM PDT
  • Test: September 9–13, 7:00 PM PDT (5 days)
  • Platforms: Steam + Android + iOS

New this round: Main Story Chapter 3, spin-off story, new raids, new characters, combat/art/UX passes from the last test. No IAP. Accounts wipe. Apply on Steam (“Request Access”) and/or the official mobile form. One login can cover both platforms if you get both.

Petit Planet - Final Beta · September 20

HoYoverse’s cozy galactic life sim. You’ll shape a tiny world, live with fuzzy Neighbors, sail the Starsea, hang out at the Galactic Bazaar.

Final closed beta starts September 20. Sign-ups close September 14, 00:00 UTC+8. PC / iOS / Android. Data wipe, no purchases. Full release is Winter 2026, not September.

Lucid Eclipse - Mobile CBT · “12 Tales of the Lantern Festival”

Mobile closed beta for the Lantern Festival build. Footage still looks rough – which is fine for an early/alpha-adjacent test, less fine if they ship it looking like that. Cross-platform (especially PC) would help this one a lot. No hard public dates beyond “September activity.”

Astrae Oratio - Closed beta applications opened August 19

Project RX adjacent, Blue Archive-ish presentation with its own combat layer and a heavier narrative/oratorial tone. Applications opened mid-August; the test itself is “very soon,” which in practice means September is the window to watch. Cute. Worth applying if the art style is your thing.

Monster Hunter Outlanders - Beta ongoing

Capcom’s free-to-play Monster Hunter spin. Beta is already running; I covered it in a dedicated video. It’s a lot of fun. September is not the launch month – it’s “people can still get into / talk about the test” month.

Bleach: Mirrors High - Pre-registration open

New Bleach mobile/PC project. Pre-reg is live. No locked September ship date – it’s on the list because the registration window is now.

Silver Palace - Pre-registration open

Victorian industrial open-world action RPG (detective fantasy, deduction + combat). Pre-reg is open. Possible last beta or a jump to launch; community speculation has been sliding toward January 31, 2027, which would park it uncomfortably close to Ananta. This is a VERY bad move for any game release.

Steam ports

Epic Seven — Steam “very soon.”

Arknights: Endfield — Steam “very soon.” There is a short Steam launch survey up; fill it out if you care about the PC client.

Outerplane — Steam page is live (age-gated). Reviews sitting around ~70% Mostly Positive at time of recording.

Lost Sword — Officially hitting Steam.

These are games you can either pre-register for, or play in some capacity in the month of September 2026. More games may become available as we get into July, but these are the games we are currently aware of!
